Yesterday for day 11, I covered an ACC Defensive Player of the Year and the Jets newest pass rusher from Florida State. Now today for day 10, I’ll be highlighting Oregons most recent great quarterback.
Justin Herbert was a 3 star quarterback recruit out of Sheldon High School in Eugene, Oregon. He received offers from Montana State, Northern Arizona, and Portland State, but wanted to stay close to home and committed to Oregon. Herbert came in as a freshman in 2016 and moved his way up to the starting spot passing for 1,936 yards and 19 touchdowns.
In 2017, Herbert passed for 1,983 yards, 15 touchdowns, and rushed for 5 scores. He was named an Academic All American following the season. The next year, Herbert threw for 3,151 yards and 29 scores while once again making Academic All American.
In his final season, Herbert threw for 3,471 yards and 32 touchdowns and rushed for 4 scores. He was again named Academic All American and took home the William V. Campbell Trophy. He was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers.
