#11. Reservoir Dogs (1992)
In the number 11 spot on the list of my 100 Favorite Films of All Time is the 1992 crime film, Reservoir Dogs. Reservoir Dogs was directed by Quentin Tarantino and stars Tim Roth, Steve Buscemi, and Harvey Keitel with supporting performances from Chris Penn, Michael Madsen, Lawrence Tierney, Edward Bunker, and Quentin Tarantino.
Reservoir Dogs is Quentin Tarantinos directorial debut and is my favorite film in the Tarantino pantheon. What I like most about Reservoir Dogs is how you get the impression that these are just regular guys who have been slapped together for a heist. The scene that encapsulates that is the diner scene. Mr. Brown is talking about Like A Virgin in a comedic way; “It's all about this cooze who's a regular fuck machine. I'm talking, morning, day, night, afternoon, Dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick, dick.” and Mr. Pink is discussing his stance on tipping.
The performances from Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Harvey Keitel, and Steve Buscemi are really great and these characters, I think have the most cohesion of any Tarantino movie. I actually believe that these guys don’t really know each other, but they’re all ball breakers.
