Yesterday for day 15, I highlighted the Texans starting quarterback that didn’t shine while at Stanford. Now today for day 14, I’ll be covering the current starting quarterback for Penn State.
Sean Clifford was a 4 star quarterback recruit out of Saint Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. The gunslinger earned offers from Cincinnati, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Louisville, but took his talents to Penn State. He’s been with the Nittany Lions since 2017. He redshirted in 2017, and in 2018, he passed for 195 yards and 2 touchdowns.
The following season in 2019, he threw for 2,654 yards and 23 touchdowns. During the 2020 Covid-19 season, Clifford passed for 1,883 yards and 16 touchdowns. This past season in 2021, Clifford had his best season as he threw for 3,107 yards and 21 touchdowns and was named All BIG Ten Honorable Mention. Clifford returns in 2022 as the Nittany Lions starter.
