#14. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
In the number 14 slot on the list of my 100 Favorite Films of All Time is the 2013 biographical black comedy crime film, The Wolf of Wall Street. The Wolf of Wall Street was directed by Martin Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, and Margot Robbie with supporting performances from Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler, Jon Bernthal, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Jon Favreau, and P. J. Byrne.
The Wolf of Wall Street is my second favorite Scorsese film of all time with my favorite coming in the top five. It’s three hours of absolute fun and madness that shouldn’t and couldn’t be in todays work place. There are many unreal scenes, but one of my favorites is when DiCaprio gets hired to sell penny stocks and he captivates the audience with is polished sales pitch. “How the fuck did you do that?” Then, there’s the famous quaaludes scene and that ones awesome when Jordans driving around and Donny is choking.
I think that The Wolf of Wall Street is DiCaprios second best performance behind The Aviator, but The Wolf of Wall Street is his best movie. Definitely the most enjoyable and fun. Jonah Hill gives his best career performance, but Margot Robbie solidifies herself as a star.
