Yesterday for day 17, I covered a quarterback from Arizona State that swindled multiple franchises out of money over his NFL career. Now today for day 16, I’ll be highlighting a safety from the National Champion Bulldogs.
Lewis Cine was a 4 star defensive back recruit out of Trinity Christian High School in Cedar Hill, Texas. The star safety earned offers from Alabama, Texas, Michigan, and Ohio State, but ended up committing to play at Georgia. As a true freshman, Cine played in 14 games making 19 tackles, 1 interception, and 2 pass breakups.
The following season, he earned the starting safety job and made 52 tackles with 3 pass breakups. In his third and final season with the Bulldogs, Cine made 73 tackles, 1 interception, and 9 pass breakups. He was a big reason the Bulldogs won the 2021 National Title and was named All SEC First Team. Cine was selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
