2022 NFL Mock Draft; Picks 25-28
Another week goes by, which means another group of teams gets eliminated.
After one of the best weekends of football, ever, four teams lost the chance to play for a Super Bowl so they’ll begin to plan for the offseason and here is who I think they will draft in the 2022 NFL Draft.
25. Buffalo Bills: Cincinnati Cornerback Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner
The Bills just lost a heartbreaker and it seems like their team is near perfect. If they can retain the majority of their team, especially their defense, then they’ll have the option to pick who ever they want at twenty five.
There defense was number one in pretty much all categories this year, but Sauce Gardner is the best available player here. Adding Gardner to a pretty stacked secondary would create a suffocating defense in pass situations.
26. Tennessee Titans: Northern Iowa Offensive Tackle Trevor Penning
Tackle feels like a revolving door position for Tennessee and adding Penning for depth when Taylor Lewan is out and to also solidify the right tackle position is huge.
Penning plays very physical which is beneficial in a run first offense like Tennessee and would make him the best option at twenty six. The Northern Iowa product is 6’7, 325 pounds and plays with a bully mentality. The only drawback of Penning is that he occasionally plays down to his opponents since he was at a smaller school, but this shouldn’t be an issue in the NFL when everyones good.
27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Alabama Wide Receiver Jameson Williams
The Buccaneers may lose Gronkowski to retirement and Chris Godwin in free agency so they’re going to need another weapon on the other side of Mike Evans. I think at twenty six overall, the 6’2, 189 pounds, Jameson Williams is the right move for Tampa Bay.
Williams plays a lot like DeSean Jackson and has the ability to step in and be the number two guy in Tampa Bay on day one. He’s fast and runs great routes and if he has Tom Brady slinging the rock to him he’ll succeed early and often.
28. Green Bay Packers: Houston Edge Rusher Logan Hall
The Packers could go offensive line here, but it would be a reach for any available guard or tackle so I would take on of the best available, Houston defensive end Logan Hall. Hall stands at 6’6, 275 pounds and plays with heavy hands and a bully attitude.
Hall is very versatile and plays like 49ers defensive lineman Arik Armstead becaue he can play anywhere from a 2i to a 7 tech. At end he can transition speed to power very well, and inside he plays very stout. The one issue with Hall is that he is almost too tall and that leads to him losing leverage and not shooting gaps very well.
