Yesterday for day 31, we highlighted possibly the greatest Penn State linebacker of all time. Now today as we cap off the 30’s, we’ll be taking a look at one of the most explosive and exciting backs I have ever watched play.
Chuba Hubbard was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and attended Bev Facey Community High School in Sherwood Park, Alberta. During his three years he rushed for just south of seven thousand yards and eighty two touchdowns.
Hubbard picked Oklahoma State to play college football and redshirted when he arrived in Stillwater. When he stepped on the field in 2017 for the Cowboys, Hubbard broke out big time.
In 2018 as a redshirt freshman, Hubbard rushed for seven hundred and forty yards in thirteen games while rushing for seven touchdowns. He even caught two touchdowns.
2019 was the real breakout season for the Canuck as he carried the ball three hundred and twenty eight times for two thousand and ninety four yards. He also tallied one hundred and ninety eight receiving yards.
For his efforts that season, Hubbard was named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All Big 12, an Unanimous All American, and won the Jon Cornish Trophy which goes to the best Canadian player in division one football. He edged out Notre Dame wideout Chase Claypool.
Following that season, Hubbard was named to the Walter Camp All American team and attended the banquet in New Haven, Connecticut. Along with Hubbard, I was also in attendance, subtle flex.
Following the banquet, Hubbard was in one of the hotel rooms running the pong table and when I saw him in there, I had to get a picture with him so here it is.
Just felt like you guys should know this, once again, subtle flex.
In the 2020 Covid-19 season, Hubbard played in seven games and rushed for six hundred and twenty five yards and five touchdowns. He earned Second Team All Big 12 honors for his efforts.
Tomorrow as we break into the 20’s, we’ll be highlighting a dominant safety that made his bones down in Tuscaloosa.
