Yesterday for day 5 we highlighted a run stuffing defensive tackle from Auburn, Alabama. Now today for 4 we look east to Tallahassee and highlight a shifty running back that currently plays for my Vikings.
Dalvin Cook was born in West Little River, Florida and attended Miami Central High School. Cook originally committed to Clemson University then flipped to the University of Florida but after a four and eight Gators season, Cook took his talents to Florida State.
As a true freshman in 2014 under Jimbo Fisher, Cook split carries with Karlos Williams and Mario Pender. He rushed for over a thousand yards with eight touchdowns and caught twenty two passes.
Along with winning the ACC Championship in 2014, Cook was named Second Team All ACC for his efforts as a true freshman.
In July of 2015, Cook was suspended from the team after he was charged with battery following an incident outside a bar. He was later found innocent and reinstated by the Noles.
Cook really broke out with just under seventeen hundred rushing yards and twenty touchdowns from scrimmage. His efforts earned him First Team All ACC and First Team All American for the 2015 season.
The following season, Cook had his best year yet. He rushed for seventeen hundred yards, had three hundred and twenty one receiving yards, and tallied twenty total touchdowns. He was once again named First Team All ACC and First Team All American.
Following that season, Cook entered the 2017 NFL Draft and was selected in the second round by my Minnesota Vikings.
Tomorrow for day 3, we’ll take a look at a receiver that is arguably one of the greatest USC players ever.
