Yesterday for day 46 we looked at an underrated college pass rusher that absolutely dominates NFL offensive tackles now. Today for day 45, we highlight a specialist that just landed on an NFL roster.
Thomas Fletcher, also known as Long Snap Fletch was a highly recruited long snapper out of IMG Academy in Florida. The Georgetown, Texas native was recruited heavily by Power Five schools including Texas A&M, Oregon, Florida State, and Alabama where he eventually ended up playing.
From 2017 to 2020, Fletcher started fifty five total games for the Crimson Tide. He asserted his dominance as the teams number one long snapper and never gave the position up.
Along with starting fifty five games for Coach Saban, Fletcher is a two time College Football National Champion in 2017 and 2020. He was also named as the 2020 Patrick Mannelly which is given to the nations top long snapper.
Fletcher has an all time draft moment from this past spring when the Carolina Panthers selected him two hundred and twenty second overall in the sixth round. Here’s his phone call with Coach Matt Rhule.
For tomorrows part of the countdown, we highlight one of the most eccentric people to ever play a collegiate sport.
