Yesterday we took a look at one of colleges most dominant and most decorated defensive players ever. For today, we look at an underrated college player that is one of the most dominant edge rushers in the NFL.
The Fort Pierce, Florida native went to Fort Pierce Westwood High School and was a standout linebacker and power forward. He was a two star recruit and accepted a division one scholarship from the University at Buffalo.
Mack redshirted his freshman season in 2009. The following season, he broke into the starting lineup where he totaled sixty eight tackles, four and a half sacks, and two forced fumbles.
The edge rusher only progressed as he tallied two hundred and fifty nine tackles, twenty four sacks, and fourteen forced fumbles from 2011 to 2013 in thirty six games.
In 2013 he was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year, 2013 First Team All American, and from 2011 to 2013 was named First Team All MAC. Mack is also tied for first all time in NCAA history with tackles for loss with seventy five.
Tomorrow for day 45, we highlight our very first long snapper. A guy who just landed on an NFL roster out of the deep south.
