60 isn’t that bad. I’ll just keep telling myself that. Today for day 60, we get to look at one of my college teammates that rushes the passer and stuffs the run.
Now if you look up “Mack Brown football” on Google, you’ll be shown legendary Texas Longhorn coach and current Tar Heel coach Mack Brown. But, the Mack Brown that I know grew up in the bayou and now rushes the passer down the Cape for the Massachusetts Maritime Buccaneers.
Mack, like Joe who we highlighted a few days ago, is on the track team for Maritime as a shot put thrower in addition to being a contributor on the football team.
In his freshman season, Mack played in all ten games for the Buccaneers at the defensive tackle position. He racked up twenty one tackles, half a sack, and had one pass break up. His best game came when the Buccaneers played Worcester State where he had four tackles, one for loss, and half a sack.
Brown comes from Harvey, Louisiana and played high school ball at Brother Martin High School in New Orleans. Brother Martin has ties to the NFL as Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. and Saints offensive lineman Will Clapp played for the Crusaders.
Tomorrow as we break into the fifties, I will highlight our first service academy member. A mean offensive guard that played college ball in West Point, New York.
