Yesterday for day 67, I covered an offensive tackle from Mississippi State that was drafted by the Seahawks. For day 66, I’ll be highlighting the college career of a former Virginia offensive tackle.
D’Brickashaw Ferguson grew up on Long Island and attended Freeport High School where he was rated a 3 star recruit. He decided to attend Virginia over Michigan State. Ferguson played for the Cavaliers from 2002 to 2005.
In his 4 years with the Cavaliers as a small offensive tackle that weighed between 245-260 pounds, he started 49 games and in 4 consecutive bowl games at left tackle. He did all of this while earning a degree in religious studies in only three and a half years.
Following a dominant senior season in 2005, Ferguson was named an All American. The New York Jets picked him 4th overall in the 2006 draft.
