Yesterday for day 68, I covered an offensive guard that transferred from Georgia to Tennessee. Now today for day 67, I’ll be highlighting an offensive tackle that was recently selected in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Seahawks.
Charles Cross was a 4 star recruit coming out of Laurel High School Watkins Campus in Laurel, Mississippi. He received offers from Arkansas, USC, and Indiana and initially committed to FSU, but decommitted and stayed in state to play for Mississippi State.
As a true freshman in 2019, Cross saw time in 3 games before redshirting. As a redshirt freshman in 2020, Cross was named starting left tackle for the Bulldogs and was named to the SEC All Freshman Team after starting 10 games.
In his redshirt sophomore season, Cross was one of the top tackle prospect and was named First Team All SEC and declared for the draft. The Seahawks took the 6’5 pass protector 9th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.
