For day 69, nice, we get to look at one of my favorite recent college offensive lineman. He was an absolute mauler in the run game for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Aaron Banks was just drafted this year by the San Francisco 49ers but prior to that he opened up rushing lines for Kyren Williams. He played alongside Liam Eichenberg who was also an absolute beast.
At 6’5, 338 pounds, Aaron Banks was great in the run game and stellar in pass protection. Prior to Notre Dame, Banks played at El Cerrito High School in California where he earned offers from Michigan, Miami, UCLA, and many other power five schools but ultimately decided to play at OLINE U, Notre Dame.
As a freshman, Banks did not play and was able to preserve his eligibility for another year. As a sophomore he played in all thirteen of the Irish games and started the final six down the stretch.
In his junior and senior year, Banks really elevated his play. He started all twenty five games and was instrumental in Notre Dames extremely successful rushing attack. Last season when the Irish joined the ACC, Banks was named All ACC First Team.
For tomorrow, we get to look at a big time tackle that played his college ball in Columbus, Ohio.
