Yesterday for day 72 we got to highlight one of the greatest offensive lineman of all time so it will definitely be tough to follow that up. For day 71, we don’t quite get to Joe Thomas’s level but this player was really dominant.
Tony Boselli played for Anthony Muñoz’s alma mater, the University of Southern California. For Boselli, he didn’t have to travel super far as he played his high school ball in Boulder, Colorado.
At USC, Boselli made a huge impact. He played for the Trojans from 1991 to 1994 and in those four years was named an All American three times from 1992 to 1994 and was First Team Pac 10 in those same years. To go with his three year streak, Boselli won the 1994 Morris Trophy.
In 2014 Boselli was named to the College Football Hall of Fame.
After playing in college, Boselli was drafted second overall in 1995 by the Jacksonville Jaguars, the first pick ever made by the franchise. Due to his popularity, local Jacksonville McDonalds restaurants offered the Boselli Burger.
For tomorrow’s countdown we get to look at a guy that was a hell of a center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama for the Crimson Tide.
