Yesterday for day 74, I covered an offensive tackle from Iowa that was named Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year. Now today for day 73, I’ll cover a mountain of a man that was selected in the top ten of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Evan Neal was a 5 star recruit out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. Neal held offers from Miami, Georgia, and Oklahoma, but would accept a scholarship to play under coach Saban at Alabama.
Neal played for the Crimson Tide from 2019 to 2021 and made an impact right away. As a freshman, Neal started every game at left guard before making the move to right tackle. Neal stayed as a starter for the 2020 season and was influential in Alabama winning the National Championship.
In his final season in Tuscaloosa, Neal became one of the most dominant offensive tackles in college football. He was named First Team All American and First Team All SEC. He decided to forgo his senior season and would be selected seventh overall by the New York Giants. Tomorrow for day 72, I’ll cover a center from Boston College.
