The countdown continues going into day 76 and yup, you guessed it, we are in the heart of run blocking machines and today is no different. We get to look at one of Florida’s finest and a Michigan alumni.
Steve Hutchinson is one of the greatest Wolverine offensive lineman, actually one of the best Wolverine football players of all time. He went into Ann Arbor as a defensive tackle and after redshirting, he made the move to offensive guard and earned a starting spot in 1997. He was a four year starter from 1997 to 2000.
He was named all BIG Ten four years in a row and when his final two seasons rolled around, he became a whole new animal. In his last two years he never allowed a sack and was named captain both seasons. He was also instrumental in the Wolverines 1997 National Championship win.
Hutchinson was the 2000 BIG Ten Lineman of the Year and was also named to the 2000 All American team. Hutchinson is an absolute legend in Ann Arbor and was excellent in the NFL. He was a member of the 2020 Professional Hall of Fame class after many great seasons in Minnesota and Seattle.
Tomorrow we get to look at a hard nosed Golden Domer that is one of Notre Dames greatest players of all time.
