Yesterday for day 77, I highlighted a first round draft pick from the 2022 NFL Draft. Now today for day 76, I’ll be covering another offensive lineman that was drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Bernhard Raimann was an unranked tight end recruit coming out of Delton-Kellogg High School in Austria. With minimal interest, Raimann accepted a scholarship offer from Central Michigan University to play tight end.
Raimann actually began his first two seasons for the Chippewas at tight end where he caught 20 passes for 164 yards. After his sophomore season, Raimann was moved to offensive tackle where he started 6 games over the shortened Covid-19 season.
Following a strong 2021 campaign, the 6’6 pass protector was named First Team All MAC, Sporting News Second Team All American, and PFFs MAC Offensive Player of the Year. Raimann was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
Tomorrow for day 75 I’ll cover an all time great offensive tackle at the college and NFL level.
