The thing that makes me happy about this countdown is that I’ve written a lot of these in advance to just make sure they all get out in time, so every time these articles hit my email at 5 a.m, I get a shot of happiness to see players I’m a fan of. Today marks that we’re 82 days out and the pass catcher are winding down, for now at least.
Number 82 could be attributed too many college players but one stuck out to me like a sore thumb.
Greg Olsen, a.k.a the third Winklevoss twin, was around for the dog days of Miami, after the double dynasty ended. Olsen was originally enrolled to play for MY Irish but transferred to the U as a freshman.
When he arrived in Miami, Olsen served as a scout teamer before suffering a shoulder injury. He got surgery then redshirted.
In 2004 he played second fiddle to Kevin Everett and caught 9 passes for 16 yards and 1 touchdown. After Everett was drafted by the Bills in the third round, Olsen moved into the starter spot.
Over the next two seasons, Olsen didn’t put up outstanding numbers but, they were good enough to keep him the starter. He reeled in 71 balls for 940 yards and 5 touchdowns over the 2005 and 2006 season.
The most memorable thing that Olsen did at the U was participate in the 7th Floor Crew rap group. The group of players caught heat for their lyrics and Olsen later apologized for his actions.
As a 19 year old kid, I find the 7th Floor Crew to be pretty comical. While it’s vial and I’m sure that Olsen didn’t want his mother to hear it, here is Olsens verse, or should I say G-Reg.
(What’s your name?) G-Reg, (What’d you do?) Get head, (How you do it?) Drop my drawers and let her see me third leg, (True) Chillin' on the 7th flo', I gotta let these chickens know, Big Greg is in the house, And I’m fi’n to make these hoes choke, On my balls, on my dick, Then I bust a nut quick, On her face, on her chest, Stick my dick between her breasts, Come on fellas lets get weird, Sick your dick up in her ear, While I’m laughin’ at these guys, I second nut all in her eyes, (Wait a minute, in her eyes?) In her eyes
Tomorrow we look at two players, one mean and tenacious defensive lineman and a big time, play making pass catcher from the Big 12.
