Right now we’re about half way through the first leg of the four by four hundred track race of this countdown. For number 84, we get to highlight a speedy pass catcher that made Western Michigan known
Corey Davis was the driving force behind the Broncos 13-1 run in 2016 as he reeled in 97 catches for 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. That same season he won the Paul Warfield Trophy, was first team All MAC, and MAC Offensive Player of the Year.
Davis was making an impact the second he stepped on campus in 2013. He set a school record with 67 catches going for 941 yards and was named the MAC Freshman of the Year.
The speedsters career only progressed when he combined for 168 catches, 2,844 yards, and 27 touchdowns between his sophomore and junior season. He ended his Bronco career with 5,285 yards and 52 touchdowns through 50 games.
In addition to the accolades he won his senior season, Davis was the 2014 Idaho Potato Bowl MVP and was three time first team All MAC. Davis and head coach P.J. Fleck helped put Western Michigan football on the map.
Tomorrow, the countdown gets to look at a phenomenal dual sport athlete that played both football and baseball in South Bend, Indiana.
