Let us continue the countdown with more pass catchers. For the number 85, I get the opportunity to highlight one of my favorite college players of all time.
Oklahomas Ryan Broyles played in Norman from 2008 to 2011 under Bob Stoops and saw immediate time the second that he stepped on campus.
In Broyles first collegiate game against Cincinnati he reeled in 7 passes for 141 yards. He finished his 2008 campaign with 46 catches for 687 yards and 6 touchdowns.
The next three seasons he really turned up the heat on the entire Big 12. His best season came as a junior when he snagged 131 balls going for 1,622 yards and 14 touchdowns. He ended his insane career with 349 receptions for 4,586 yards and 45 touchdowns in 48 games.
While his NFL career never panned out like many believed, he can hang his hat on being a two time All American and two time All Big 12.
Broyles is somewhat a forgotten star but in my opinion, his highlight tape is in the same realm as Tavon Austin, De’Anthony Thomas, and Justin Blackmon.
We continue our voyage to the start of college football with more guys who caught touchdowns at a high level, maybe not on a big time team but a guy that balled out.
