We are down to the 80’s and while myself and many other linemen are disappointed, it is exciting to see new positions get repped on this countdown.
To kickoff the 80’s we start with a tremendous college tight end who caught passes in Charlottesville for the Virginia Cavaliers. Heath Miller had a long and illustrious NFL career but balled out at the college level from 2002-2004.
The second that Miller stepped foot on campus he was a stud. In his freshman season he caught 33 passes for 327 yards and 9 touchdowns. His sophomore year was even better when he reeled in 70 balls for 835 yards and 6 touchdowns.
His senior season saw a mild decline but he was still dominant. He caught 41 passes for 541 yards and 5 touchdowns.
There is an argument to be made that Miller is a top three college tight end of the past 20 years. He won the 2004 Mackey Award, was a 2004 First Team All American, two time All ACC, and made the 2002 ACC Freshman team.
Tomorrow the trend of route runners continues and we inch one day closer to the college football season.
