Yesterday we rounded out the 90’s with a legendary college pass rusher from Washington in Steve Emtman. Now today for day 89 we transition to pass catchers in a dynamic route runner from Connecticut that plays at Iowa.
Nico Ragaini is an East Haven native that played high school football at Avon Old Farms prep school. He was lightly recruited out of CT and picked to play at Iowa for the Hawkeyes over an offer from Boston College.
Ragaini redshirted his freshman season after seeing action in only 3 games where he tallied 1 catch for 7 yards. As a redshirt freshman in 2019, he balled out. He caught 46 passes for 439 yards and 2 touchdowns while also returning 9 punts for 96 yards. His efforts in the return game earned him First Team All BIG Ten Punt Returner honors.
In 2020, Ragaini reeled in 18 passes for 191 yards and rushed for 1 score. This past season, the 203 native made 26 catches for 331 yards and 1 touchdown while earning the Team Hustle Award.
Tomorrow for day 88, I’ll move into a dominant tight end that played college ball for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
