AIC Hires Lou Conte As Their Next Head Football Coach

A big move for AIC.

Yesterday, division two American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts hired the programs fourteenth head coach by bring Lou Conte on board. Conte is a western Massachusetts native and attended Springfield College where he was a three year letter winner in football.

Conte coached the A-backs at The Citadel in 2014, but left for the 2015 season to coach the quarterbacks at Springfield College. The following season, he returned to South Carolina to coach at The Citadel in 2016 as the Bulldogs offensive coordinator. In 2016, the Bulldogs averaged 348.2 rushing yards per game. In addition to coaching at Springfield College and The Citadel, Conte coached at Maine Maritime, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Williston Northampton School.

The Yellowjackets went 1-9 in 2022 and are looking for a quick turnaround. Conte could implement his expertise in the triple option and take over the NE-10.
