The Uconn Huskies were able to bounce back from their 68-60 loss to Villanova with a huge win tonight against the Georgetown Hoyas. With this win, Uconn’s record moves to 11-6 and remains fourth in the Big East.
Uconn found themselves down by one at the half but was able to pull out a 13 point win. They were lead by two players who scored over half of their squads points. James Bouknight and RJ Cole combined for 37 of Uconns 70 tonight as Bouknight went for a double double notching 10 rebounds and 20 points. For Cole, he was able to drop 17 points with 7 assists.
For the Hoyas, they were lead by star center, Qudus Wahab. He was able to keep Georgetown in the game with a double double of his own with 18 points and 10 boards. With this loss, Patrick Ewing and his Hoyas drop to 7-11 and are in eight place in the Big East.
Dan Hurleys squad has three games left on the schedule, facing off against Marquette, Seton Hall, and Georgetown again. If they’re able to win out, they could set themselves up with a real chance to win the Big East or at least get a tournament bid.
