Camacho Loses In Quarterfinals
CT native Camacho loses a close quarters match.
Jakob Camacho lost 4-2 in his quarterfinals matchup against redshirt junior, Brandon Courtney from Arizona State.
Camacho now drops into the consolation bracket and will try to wrestle back to take third and All American. He is lined up to take on the winner of #8 Foley from Michigan State and #17 Cardinale out of West Virginia.
Fingers crossed, if Camacho wins his next match and Sam Latona wins his, then they will face off in the second consolation round of eight. Latona has had Camachos number all year long but, if they face off again, I like Camachos odds.
As for Brandon Courtney who defeated Camacho, he will wrestle #7 Taylor LaMont from Utah Valley.
In the first round, Courtney majored #30 Roes from Binghamton and then in the round of 16, he won by two points over #19 Barnett out of Wisconsin.
I am very curious on how Courtney will wrestle against LaMont who is extremely tough. I predict that Courtney will win and advance to the finals against Spencer Lee from Iowa.
