Deakin Dominates At 157
Northwestern's Ryan Deakin runs through the 157 weight class at Big Tens.
After majoring Ohio States Elijah Cleary 8-0 in the quarterfinals and Kendall Coleman from Purdue 14-1 in the semifinals, Ryan Deakin broke the will of Iowas Kaleb Young in the finals. Young has a lot of explaining to do to his coach and father in law, Tom Brands after that dismantling.
Deakin took Young down at the end of the first and after that, never let up. He went onto win 6-0 with over 2 minutes of riding time. This tournament really showed how dominant a wrestler Ryan Deakin is.
This was Deakin’s second Big Ten Title of his career and will be the clear cut favorite to win the a National Title. Deakin is an absolute hammer that I wouldn’t want to step on the mat with.
