Debarber Takes Second At State Opens
Enfield Eagle Ryan Debarber takes second in the javelin event at State Opens.
Today in New Britain, CT at Veterans Memorial Stadium, Enfield High School senior Ryan Debarber took second place in the javelin event. His top throw from the day was on his fifth and final toss when he reached 172 feet and 6 inches.
While Debarber had a solid showing and took home silver, he was topped by New Milford High School senior Sam Tarrant who threw his best throw on his second attempt with 178 feet and 4 inches. Tarrant has signed to throw javelin next year at the division one level for the Bryant University Bulldogs.
With New Englands not happening this year, Debarber is now locked in for the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation outdoor track Nationals. Ryan and his family will make the trip west for the Nationals which take place at the University of Oregons Hayward Field from June 30th to July 3rd.
