The question “How do you do it JR?” has never been more relevant as he continues to drop heat. I keep wondering, how does JR do it? The Maine native and friend of the podcast just dropped his new song GRAPEVINE with another artist from Maine, B.Aull.
GRAPEVINE dropped as a trio along with his other two recent songs, Getcha Geeked and Red Solo Funk.
The vibe of the song is immaculate. A pop style beat with B.Aull and JR spitting bars over it with an incredibly catchy chorus.
“Shorty on fire, stop baby drop and roll, yeah I just wanna scoop like rocky road, yeah right now, right now, can I pull up on you right now, right now, aye I can not lie, girl you’re so bad for me, I gotta new crib that you gotta see, but you gotta new man you don’t take time, my homie said he heard it through the GRAPEVINE”.
My only complaint for JR is that I wish this song came out earlier for the summer so I could bump it with the windows down. I guess it’ll just become an anthem for the fall which is awesome.
This isn’t the first time that JR and B.Aull have worked together. The duo from Maine collaborated on JR’s song, BABY KNOCK ME DOWN that dropped in 2020 and is an unreal jam with horns in the back ground.
Once again, JR killed his marketing scheme where he based it off a color. If you remember back to his Getcha Geeked drop, he focused around the color orange and apricots and for RED SOLO FUNK with Tre Breezy and dg.zip, he used the color red and a velvet red blazer in the music video.
For GRAPEVINE, JR wore a purple checkered button down. For his cover art, JR is standing in front of a zero calorie, sugar free grape soda can and if you look closely, you can see behind the can is the red solo cup from RED SOLO FUNK and the juice carton from GETCHA GEEKED.
Go listen to GRAPEVINE.
