And the Eagles immaculate offseason continues today. After improving at most positions that were abysmal last season, they bolster their secondary by adding James Bradberry. Last season with the Giants, Bradberry made 47 tackles, 4 interceptions, and broke up 17 passes.
The Eagles are signing the six year veteran defensive back to a 1 year, 10 million dollar deal.
By adding Bradberry, the Eagles put themselves in contention to have the top corner duo in the NFL of Bradberry and Darius Slay. Last season the 31 year old Slay made 52 tackles, 3 interceptions, and broke up 9 passes.
This signing isn’t the first of a major rebuild in Philadelphia. During free agency, they made the signings of linebacker Haason Reddick for a 3 year, 45 million dollar deal and linebacker Kyzir White to a 1 year, 5 million dollar deal. On offense, they signed pass catcher Zach Pascal and then traded for wide receiver A.J Brown before signing him to a 4 year, 100 million dollar deal.
Then in the draft, the Eagles went out and grabbed the best interior defensive lineman in the draft in Jordan Davis and added a stud linebacker in Nakobe Dean. The addition of Nebraska center Cam Jurgens adds depth to an aging offensive line that will go through a rebuild very soon.
As much as it pains me to say it, Philly did an awesome job this offseason and it looks like they could be the front runner to win the NFC East.
