Penn State quarterback and Connecticut native, Will Levis has entered the transfer portal and will be leaving State College, PA. Levis brings grit, toughness, and leadership to the field and whoever he lands with, gets one hell of a player.
Last season, Levis was not given the playing time he deserved over Sean Clifford who was mediocre to say the least. In his few chances he threw for 421 yards and 1 touchdown while also, rushing for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns.
A landing spot that would make sense for Levis is the University of Kentucky. Big Blue Nation would get a dual threat player that can drop his shoulder and finish a run and help make the Wildcats a contender in the SEC. If Levis lands at Kentucky, he’ll be on a bigger stage to display his talent and if he performs at a high level against teams like Georgia, South Carolina, and Florida, his draft stock will shoot through the roof.
With UK quarterback, Terry Wilson also, transferring Levis, could step right in and make a huge impact on the Wildcats who went 5-6 last season.
Another University the gunslinger could play for next year is West Virginia University. Playing in a conference like the Big 12 and against the meek defenses the conference offers would give him the opportunity to show off his run and gun style. WVU’s starter from last season, Austin Kendall is currently in the transfer portal looking for a new home so, Levis could slide right in a take over the offense.
The last suitable spot for Levis would be another SEC school. The Ole Miss Rebels have two quarterbacks, Grant Tisdale and Kade Renfro, in the transfer portal so they will be reeling for a play maker at quarterback against Mississippi State and Alabama next season. Like I said with the Wildcats, Levis would be on a bigger stage and would be able to showcase his play under the bright lights of prime time games.
Coach Lane Kiffin is a master in the recruiting game and could make a solid pitch to land the Xavier High alumni.
Wherever Levis lands, I hope to see him get the opportunity he deserves and ball out for the state of CT. He is one hell of a player with tons of guts and isn’t afraid to take a hit and lay his body on the line for his team.
