Gable Steveson Contemplates Return to Minnesota
The National Champion is debating on returning to college.
With the NIL billing being passed this week, many athletes will be making money off of their likeness and there really isn’t a bigger name in collegiate wrestling than Minnesotas Gable Steveson who took home a National Title last season.
Gable has 245 thousand followers on Instagram along with 30 thousand Twitter followers. With 245 thousand Instagram followers, Gable sits above every other active BIG Ten athlete. The next closest is Penn State gymnast Michael Jaroh with 172 thousand. Gable has a massive 73 thousand follower lead!
The Hodge Trophy winning wrestler was able to cash in quickly when the calendar turned to July. He is now currently endorsed by the clothing brand Kith out of New York. Gables style matches perfect with the Kith brand and can be a great partnership for the two.
The other company that Gable has struck a deal with is Gopuff. Gopuff is a company like Postmates where they deliver food, drinks, cleaning supplies, home needs, and OTC medication. A very solid agreement on both ends.
With these endorsements being signed, Gable is still not sure if he will come back to wrestle collegiately. In a tweet sent out yesterday, Gable said that he’d wait until after the Olympic games to decided if he’ll return to Minnesota
As a diehard college wrestling fan, I really hope that Gable comes back but, if he doesn’t return then heavyweight becomes a wide open weight class. Mason Parris would be the favorite with guys like Trent Hillger, Greg Kerkvliet, and Tony Cassioppi right behind him.
