Gym Reviews: Iron Legacy Myrtle Beach, SC
I am a really big fan of trying gyms out and seeing what they have to offer, even though Lightning Fitness in South Windsor Ct is my daily gym it is still fun to explore. While down in Myrtle Beach this past weekend I still had to get my training in since now I am about 10 weeks out from my first powerlifting competition, I had the pleasure of going to Iron Legacy, little less than 10 minutes away from the main boardwalk down at Myrtle. When I first walked in, I got that feeling of an old-school/mainly bodybuilding type gym, so I am a little of my usual element from a powerlifting gym.
After leaving the front desk and walked around the gym I began to see a lot of cool machines that you will not regularly see at a commercial gym. Plate loaded alternating leg extension, pendulum squat machine, old metal dumbbells that went up to 150lb and a whole lot more. While the variety of machines where there the only downside to the gym is that it had 2 squat racks and 2 flat benches so on a busy crowded day you might need to wait a little bit to get your main compound movements in. As an overall gym it is nice, very cool equipment, cool murals of old school bodybuilders like Arnold who also trained there too and for $10 for a day pass you cannot really beat it. So, if you ever happen to be spending a bender in Myrtle Beach and want to get a quick pump in before you cannot remember your name by the end of the day I highly recommend checking out Iron Legacy.
