Today, the best fullback in the NFL turns 30 years young. Kyle Juszczyk has done his civic duty the past eight seasons for the fullback community and is a trailblazer for the big, physical, pass catchers out of the backfield.
Juszczyk played his college ball at Harvard where he reeled in 125 passes for 1,576 yards, and 22 touchdowns in his four years with the crimson as a tight end slash wing player. He wasn’t invited to the combine and the league would later learn, that that was a BIG mistake.
I mean not like a massive mistake but I guess it was kind of a mistake.
He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens. Juszczyk was the second highest player taken out of Harvard and the tenth player ever drafted from the prestigious university.
While with Ball So Hard University, he racked up 103 catches for 814 yards and 5 touchdowns. When it came time for free agency, Juszczyk found interest from the Eagles, Bills, and Browns but eventually signed with the San Francisco 49ers on a 4 year, 21 million dollar deal.
This signing by the 49ers was far from a mistake.
He has been instrumental in the Bay Area in the 49ers rushing attack and is always a threat in the pass game. He also adds a flare on special teams, much like other fullbacks, to turn the tides of a game.
As a 49er, he has racked up 105 catches going for 1,119 yards and reeling in 9 touchdowns. This past offseason, the Juice Check signed a 5 years, 27 million dollar extension to stay in the Golden Gate City.
Along with Juszczyk being a baller in the backfield, he is the drippiest fullback to walk the gridiron. He rocks an Oakley visor with long white turf tape and white bicep bands. To go with that, he has red tights and minuscule knee pads.
Oh, and he also rocks number 44 which in my opinion, is the best number in football. It just looks tough.
My only suggestion to Mr. Juszczyk is to throw a butterfly neck pad on his shoulder pads. That’d be awesome!
Once again Kyle Juszczyk, thank you for everything you’ve done for the fullback community and happy 30th.
