Taylor Lewan turns 30 years old today. The Titans tackle is a jack of all trades, a Pro Bowl tackle, a father, and a podcast host.
Lewan was born in California and then attended Scottsdale High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Out of high school, Lewan was named as a four star tackle and accepted a scholarship offer from Michigan.
The 6’7 tackle had a decorated college career for the Wolverines. He was twice named First Team All American, two time BIG Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year, and three time All BIG Ten.
Lewan became a starter as a red shirt freshman and never really looked back. At Michigan, Lewan did have a run in with the police when he assaulted two Ohio State fans. He would later plead guilty but never served any jail time.
In the 2014 NFL Draft, Lewan was taken eleventh overall by the Titans who he has spent his entire career with. On his podcast Bussin With the Boys, he talked about how he was pissed that he fell out of the top ten and wasn’t the first tackle off the board. In the process of storming out of the green room at the draft, he gave Rihanna the cold shoulder.
He has been named to the All Rookie Team and from 2016 to 2018 he made the Pro Bowl.
Prior to the 2019 season, Lewan announced in an Instagram post that he was popped for a banned substance and would miss the first four games of the season. Last season in 2020, Lewan tore his ACL in a week six overtime win against the Texans.
Off the field, Lewan started up the Bussin With the Boys podcast in 2019 with friend and teammate Will Compton. The duo hosts the show out of an old bus in Nashville where they interview former college teammates and guys around the league that they’re friends with.
In February of 2020, around the time that Penn National Gaming bought Barstool Sports, the podcast was added to the Barstool content umbrella.
Happy 30th to one of my favorite players in the league. A guy who plays with a mean streak and has the most drip of any offensive linemen.
