One of the greatest collegiate linebackers of all time is celebrating his 56th birthday today. Watching old Boz highlights is awesome but, the biggest impact Bosworth has had on my life is that I am currently sporting a mullet in his honor. Maybe I’ll be dying it blonde for the summer, who knows?
While Bosworth’s NFL career was a flop, he was tremendously entertaining and balled out in college. He played for the Oklahoma Sooners from 1984-1986.
His wild hairstyles and criticism of the NCAA put him in the national eye but, his play spoke for him. He was a nasty, hard hitting linebacker with great athleticism. He is a two time Butkus Award winner, two time All American, three time All Big Eight, a Heisman Finalist, and a National Champ.
After having to retire from the NFL, Boz got right into acting. He’s made appearances in movies, T.V shows, and various sitcoms but, I will always remember Brian Bosworth as a guy that would lay you out while wearing a half shirt and rocking a bleach blonde mullet.
