Well, today is my Christmas. It is the greatest day of the year, Draft Day. This day comes with many twists and turns and offers moments that you’d never think you would see.
In the past we’ve seen Laremy Tunsils stock drop from the gas mask situation, the Vikings laugh at the Eagles, and Josh Allens old tweets about him being horny and loooving penis. It’s honestly just an immaculate day.
Some news surrounding the draft is that the 49ers are split on what quarterback they want at the helm of their offense next year. Kyle Shanahan wants Mac Jones and management wants Trey Lance so I am curious to see how this debacle works out.
With the number four pick, there are rumors swirling that the Falcons are locked in on selecting Florida tight end Kyle Pitts. Pitts is a generational talent that could be a big time player in HotLanta.
This year could honestly be a hit or miss year for the Falcons because Matty Ice and Julio Jones are nearing the end of their careers and a mix of veteran leadership with young weapons like Pitts and Ridley could make for an improbable Super Bowl run.
Lastly, the Ravens recently dealt offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. who was on the trade block to the Kansas City Chiefs. The trade saw many picks get swapped. The Chiefs received Brown Jr., a 2021 second-round pick (58th overall) and a 2022 sixth-round pick.
The Ravens received the 31st overall pick in this year's draft, Baltimore also gets a 2021 third-round selection (94 overall), a 2022 fourth-round pick (either 136 or 144) and a 2022 fifth-round selection.
Now Baltimore holds two first round picks. One of which I think will be used on a receiver and one on maybe an edge rusher. I think they could take Rashod Bateman out of Minnesota with the 27th pick and then with the 31st could select Jayson Oweh or Azeez Ojulari to rush the passer.
All in all, only two words can describe how I feel about about today and those words are “FIRED UP!”.
