Everyone loves a good underdog story and right now, the wrestling community loves Stanfords Shane Griffith. Griffith just beat Bucknells Zach Hartman who was seeded fifth overall.
Griffith put on a very dominant performance as he was able to pull out a 9-2 win. He nearly pinned Hartman at the end of the match put ended up picking up four back points to extend his lead.
The Stanford 165 will face off against the three seed, Jake Wentzel out of Pittsburgh. Wentzel won 4-2 in his semis match against Ethan Smith from Ohio State.
Griffith is making it a whole lot harder for the clowns that are apart of the Stanford athletic board to shut down the program. I still wonder, how can Stanford get rid of an athletic team that has a National finalist and multiple All Americans? It’s baffling.
Keep battling Shane Griffith, the whole wrestling community has your back in the finals.
