“You’re a Vikings fan”, “You’re biased to your team”, blah blah blah. Justin Jefferson was robbed by another Justin for the NFL Rookie of the Year Award. Chargers quarterback and Oregon alumni, Justin Herbert won Rookie of the Year and while he had an awesome year, Justin Jets should have won the award.
The 35 people that are subscribed to my blog will probably read this and think that I’m bashing Herbert but, thats far from true. I’m a Herbert guy, I think he played awesome this season for being the second best rookie in the league behind Jefferson.
Jefferson finished 4th in receiving this season amongst the whole league. The next closest rookie was CeeDee Lamb in 25th. Jefferson was ahead of a guy like Davante Adams who people argue is the leagues best pass catcher.
Also, did Herbert create a sick celebration? NOPE! Jefferson blessed the league with the “griddy” after an unreal 71 yard touchdown against the Titans where he broke 2 tackles to goto the crib. I think the “griddy” should have been put in consideration with stats, just my opinion.
To sound less salty, congrats to Justin Herbert but, we all know that QB bias is a real thing and Justin Jefferson should have been the Rookie of the Year.
