Kirk Minihane is already the most talented on-air personality in America; now he’s solidified himself as the best trivia player at Barstool Sports. After all the votes were counted, it was announced that Minihane was named MVP of the 2021-2022 Dozen Trivia Season. I think it’s time to start calling him Trivia Muhammad in addition to Podcast Jesus.
This is well deserved when you consider what Kirk battled this season. He showed guts when he played Team Yak with Covid-19, had to find a replacement for Trysta Krick when she blatantly cheated, missed a game due to mental health struggles, and had to replace Rico Bosco for a game when he lightly tossed a High Noon at Big T’s dome. Kirk is a warrior.
While most of the players in this league would be content with being named MVP, Minihane isn’t. He’s consistently stated on his podcast, the Kirk Minihane Show, that the only thing that matters is a title. He reiterated that thought tonight following the announcement.
In addition to being named league MVP, Podcast Jesus was named First Team All Dozen. Other members of the team include Large from Team Gen XYZ, Nick Turani of the Frankettes, Chris Castellani from Out of Office, and the leagues Rookie of the Year Rudy Junda of urMom.
Team Minihane is the two seed heading into The Dozen tournament following a strong season. The three headed monster of the savant Minihane, the wildcard Rico Bosco, and the team rock Pat will be squaring off against the winner of Team Gen XYZ and The Fellas.
While Team Minihane hasn’t faced Gen XYZ yet, they do have a history with The Fellas.
Early in the season, Team Minihane played Gen XYZ and succumbed to a huge comeback from Gen XYZ. Then, Jack Mac started running his mouth at the team rock, Pat. Kirk didn’t take too kindly to that and told him that he was going to play him again and “beat the shit out of him” while simultaneously calling him a blob.
The two teams played the following week, and Team Minihane squeaked out a huge win to get back on track.
The tournament starts next week and Podcast Jesus will be taking a trip to New York City to stand shoulder to shoulder with his team and look to hang a banner. I’m riding with Team Minihane.
