In the words of Marshall Bruce Mathers the Third, “Guess who’s back, back again”. MASCAC Football and all MASCAC fall sports will be returning next semester and I couldn’t be more fired up about it.
It’s been 538 days since I last suited up to for a real competition on the gridiron and about the same for hundreds of other MASCAC student athletes who play soccer, football, cross country, and other fall sports.
For myself, it’s been a tough time without the sport that has been apart of my life since I was ten. This past fall it was the first time since 2011 that I didn’t report for a fall camp or have a “hell week” and it was a tough situation to deal with.
While I realize that millions of other people around the globe have gone through much worse like losing their job or family members, losing football has been super difficult because as a 19 year old kid, footballs my life.
But, with the MASCAC conference announcing the return of the game I love, I get to see the light at the end of the tunnel and for me, it’s August 12th of this year.
I honestly couldn’t be more fired up to hear the news.
