Minnesota has ended their search for a new general manager. Yesterday the Vikings announced the hiring of the Browns VP of Football Operations, Kwesi Adofo-Mensah.
Adofo-Mensah has an economics degree from Princeton, a masters degree in economics from Stanford, was previously a portfolio manager for Taylor Woods Capital, and worked in football operations for Cleveland and San Francisco. Adofo-Mensah is qualified beyond belief, and if he had any hand in putting together Clevelands recent roster, I’m all in.
The Browns put together a top offensive line by drafting Jedrick Willis, signing Jack Conklin, and trading for Wyatt Teller. Cleveland has developed rookies into solid players like Willis, Peoples-Jones, and Harrison Bryant so I like that were bringing Adofo-Mensah in.
Minnesota has a handful of picks on the backend of the draft and the twelfth overall pick on day one. I’m very curious as to what Adofo-Mensah will do at twelve. If there’s not an immediate need at twelve does he trade back or go best available? Will he try to flip the third rounder for more picks on day three? Who knows, but I’m excited for this new hire.
Now, we wait for a coaching hire.
