In a massive turn of events, Ohio States quarterback Kyle McCord is transferring to Syracuse. The former five star commit shocked the college football world when he entered the transfer portal and rumors began to swirl early and often that Syracuse would be a destination for him. I didn’t believe it, but today, McCord confirmed the rumors by announcing his commitment to Syracuse via social media.
In 2022 as the Buckeyes starting quarterback, McCord threw for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. He had big shoes to fill following CJ Stroud, who was a Heisman finalist in 2021 and while he did play well, he didn’t exactly excel and help the Buckeyes be great. I do think that McCord will be a good fit at Syracuse, but as a whole, this move is wild. Ohio State was knocking on the door of the playoffs, and just like that McCord, Henderson, Harrison and Egbuka are gone.
Next years going to be a tough one for Buckeye fans. They’re probably going to get rag-dolled by Michigan and their little brother, Penn State might actually beat them. But then again, when has James Franklin won a big game?
