Back for day two, and we’ve got some surprises on here for myself. A couple songs that I didn’t think would be in my top one hundred and some that I thought’d be higher.
90. Red Solo Funk by JR Specs
I’m a little shocked that this one isn’t higher because much like You’re a Fucking Bitch Hope You Know That Shit, I bumped this song a lot. It’s a great pregaming song about playing beer pong and is just flows really nice.
Two friends of the show, JR Specs and Tre Breezy worked on this project and absolutely killed it. Love this song.
89. Mr. Mail Man by Spose, Amy Allen, and Cam Groves
With Mr. Mail Man I’m surprised it’s in my top hundred and not in the way I’m surprised about Red Solo Funk. I really am not a huge fan of this song just because of the lyrics about hating the mail man. I like the idea of it, but it just doesn’t flow great to in my opinion.
Not too sure how this one snuck into my top hundred, but it did.
88. Knock Knock by Mac Miller
Knock Knock is a great aux song because it’s liked by all demographics. My dad likes Knock Knock. Enough said. This song is probably my favorite Mac Miller song of all time just because of how upbeat it is and how happy it makes me feel.
No shock that this GOATed Mac Miller track was in my top hundred.
87. Clorox Bleach by Spose
Clorox Bleach has got to be my favorite song off of Nonperishable because it’s the ultimate fuck you song. Spose raps about how he’d rather drink bleach, get punched by McGregor, and even get nuked before working with another rapper that disrespected him in the past.
Spose doesn’t make it clear who this rapper is, but I’d love to know who it is that disrespected him way back and now has Spose feeling this way.
86. Another Mans Logo by Spose and Shang High
Another Mans Logo is an awesome gym song and I’m guessing this is where I played it the most. It just revs you up to hit a PR when Spose and Shang High are rapping about being out on your own and taking care of shit on your own.
85. Listen Up Bub by Spose
Listen Up Bub starts with a low piano that kind of reminds me of Runaway. Then Spose raps about how everyone in life is trying to win and if you fall down then you need to get right back up and keep going. It’s a great feel good song.
84. Bob Johnson by Spose and Kristina Kentigian
A lot of the times when I listened to Bob Johnson, I was listening to the lyrics and following the story that Spose and Kristina Kentigian told.
The song is about a woman who killed her cheating and abusive husband, but regrets it when she sees her kids at visitation. The man she killed was Bob Johnson, southern Maines top hot tub salesman, who also was getting frisky at work with a younger women which led to his demise.
It’s an awesome song that has a low bass, eerie beat.
83. Mr. Rager by Kid Cudi
If I had another month of listening, Mr. Rager would be a lot higher because it’s a song I’m just getting into and realizing how great of a song it is. Cudi does what he does best and makes another great aux song for when you’re driving at night.
82. Woops by Spose and Cam Groves
Woops is a song that I found well after We Smoked It All Four came out and I’m glad I did. The duo of Spose and Cam Groves rap about how an accident, a simple woops, can lead to something good.
A line that sticks out to me that really resinates is “Only started rapping to be ill as hell, Then they told me that my music made 'em not kill themselves”. It’s crazy the impact some artists have on people.
81. Already Best Friends by Jack Harlow and Chris Brown
“She brought a buddy in”, “What you studying in?” I absolutely love this song off of Harlows album, Thats What They All Say. It’s the ultimate song to bump on the aux when you’re with your boys in the car and the Chris Brown feature with Harlow is undefeated.
