And we’ve made it past the halfway point.
50. World War Blues by Spose
World War Blues is a very interesting song with a fast paced beat. Spose raps about the United States going to war and what happens to the soldiers or what occurs in the middle east, or wherever the war is taking place.
“Draped in a flag, comin' back to town, But it's the next man up so throw your hands up, For the boom, boom, boom, the bomb”. While I may not fully agree with Sposes sentiment in the song, I give him props for attacking this issue through rap.
49. Eleven Thirty by Spose and Cam Groves
Eleven Thirty reminds me of a good Kanye West song, Drive Slow. It’s got a mellow beat that fits for a perfect late night drive. The We Smoked It All duo made a relaxing song that is easy to listen to.
48. Love 4 This by Mike Squires and Anoyd
Love 4 This just proves how great a producer Mike Squires is. He works with Anoyd on this track and they make a great pump up/gym song for the people. Mikes a friend of the show and I’d have to say that this is my favorite song he’s ever worked on.
47. Mr. Jones by Counting Crows
“Pass me the bottle, Mr. Jones”. I love the Counting Crows and Mr. Jones is my all time favorite song by them. I covered this banger early on in Alt Rock Autumn and had a good time doing so.
My dad turned me onto Counting Crows when I was younger and I’ve been listening to them ever since.
46. Nobody by Spose and Watsky
The concoction of two of my favorite rappers, Watsky and Spose rapping about persevering to make a name for yourself is music to my ears. This was one of the first Spose songs I ever listened to because I was a huge Watsky fan before being a Spose fan.
45. Scotty Doesn’t Know by Lustra
“Scotty doesn't know that Fiona and me, Do it in my van every Sunday”. What a banger. Lustra created one of the most iconic songs of the past twenty years when they wrote this jam about a guy sleeping with his friends girlfriend.
If you play Scotty Doesn’t Know, I’ll sing every word to it no matter where we are at full volume because this song slaps. Throw this in the category with Mr. Brightside because it is so iconic.
44. Love Song by Sara Bareilles
Occasionally when I listen to music, I get into moods where I want to hear older music I haven’t listened to in a while. One day I got the itch to hear Love Song and it just stuck in my rotational playlist.
Love Song is an awesome song like If It Makes You Happy to scream at the top of your lungs. But what sets Love Song a part from If It Makes You Happy is that the majority of the people in my generation know it so everyone can shout along.
43. Dear Maria, Count Me In by All Time Low
I am thoroughly surprised that Dear Maria, Count Me In is higher than Scotty Doesn’t Know because I enjoy Scotty Doesn’t Know more than Dear Maria, Count Me In.
The two songs are similar styles because of the heavy guitar and punk rock theme. They’re both fun to listen to and get the blood flowing.
42. Honey by 070 Shake, Ralphy River, and Hack and Tree
Some songs that you listen to take you to a certain place where you remember hearing it and Honey takes me to the summer. Leaving Russian Lady with some friends with Honey blaring through the car speakers was an electric feeling. Felt on top of the world.
41. Smiley Face by Spose
Spose has done very interesting songs through his career like World War Blues and Smiley Face is no different. Spose raps about people dealing with depression and other issues in their life, but they mask it with a smile because they don’t want people to know about their struggle.
