Ryan Deakin Gets Stuck
The number one seed at 157 gets pinned in the semifinals.
HOLY SHIT! The number one seeded wrestler at 157, Ryan Deakin just got pinned by the number four seed, Jesse Dellavecchia out of Rider.
Dellavecchia was a big time underdog coming into this match, no one thought he’d win, including myself. He was able to pin Deakin, who is a HAMMER, in the second period.
The referees reviewed the call for a solid five minutes and came back saying that the pin stood. Dellavecchia and the Rider coaches went insane. He’ll be matching up against the number three seed, David Carr from Iowa State.
Carr squared off against the number two seed, Hayden Hidlay out of NC State who is extremely tough. The Iowa Cyclone Carr was able to gut out a 6-4 win.
Tomorrow night, we should have fireworks on deck for this 157 National Final. My prediction is that Dellavecchia wins 5-2 over Carr but, I really don’t care who wins. This match will be awesome.
