Mike Vrabel just made my entire day. Today, the Titans went out and signed 26 year old Adam Coon to play offensive tackle. The 6’5, 285 pound, former Michigan heavyweight will be dipping his toe back into the world of football. He last played in 2013 for Fowlerville High School where he was an All State linebacker and honorable mention offensive tackle in the state of Michigan.
Coon did not qualify for the summer Olympic team and now has the chance to resume his football career. In 2018, he won a silver medal at the 2018 World Wrestling Championships in Budapest. A year later in 2019, he took home gold at the Pan American Wrestling Championships.
When Coon wrestled at Michigan, he was DOMINANT. He was a three time All American at heavyweight and had a 116-15 for the Wolverines.
My most memorable Coon moment was when he was able to beat Kyle Snyder in their final college season. He narrowly defeated the dominant Snyder in Ann Arbor but later in the season lost to Snyder in the NCAA Finals.
I like the majority of the wrestling community is hoping that Coon makes the Titans roster and hopefully has an NFL career like Stephen Neal and not like Brock Lesnar.
