For day eight we covered a song that was a mix of sad and happy that fits the bill for summer; Riptide by Vance Joy. A song that was influential in my high school years that I played religiously. Now for day nine as the countdown continues, I’ll be covering Jack Harlows most recent song.
Nail Tech is a certified BANGER. Jack Harlow is the only man currently in the industry that can kill a beat with horns in it consistently. It’s the perfect couple; Jack Harlow and a symphony of trombones and trumpets.
With Nail Tech dropping in 2022, I haven’t yet experienced a summer with it so I’m formulating who, what, where, and when it’ll be used and I’m getting afternoon hoop vibes. The songs fast paced, upbeat, and is about just being a boss that is better than everyone. Imagine you dribble down the court, pass the rock, cut to the corner, get it back and drain a three as you hear “Ridin' 'round in the shotgun in her Tesla, Hangin' both of my legs out it, like "What's up?” Electric.
I could also see Nail Tech being a premiere party song, much like many other hits from the Louisville native Harlow. Give me Nail Tech after SUNDOWN and the party that you’re at is going to get active very quick.
When Nail Tech came out, I feel as if it didn’t get the respect it truly deserved because hip hop casuals accused Harlow of just having the same, generic flow and beats because he used horns in the song Industry Baby with Lil Nas X. Statements like that couldn’t have been further from the truth though. If he used Lil Nas X as a feature then maybe I’d understand where people were coming from, but saying something like that is simply uneducated.
Nail Tech released at the right time, pre summer, and will be an anthem song that gets A LOT of play from die hard Harlow fans.
