The Bull does it again. Alex Marinelli of Iowa just won his third Big Ten Title at 165 and is getting hot at the right time. For this Big Ten win, it wasn’t against his usual foe, Vincenzo Joseph of Penn State who graduated last year. He faced off and beat Ohio States Ethan Smith narrowly.
The first period ended 0-0 and Marinelli broke the ice with a takedown in the second. He would go on to get the 3-2 win but, in his post match interview was disappointed with the way he didn’t ice the match.
Marinelli said that he went into to a “defensive mode” when he was up by a point and wished that he stayed on the attack.
Looking forward to nationals, Marinelli should be the one seed and will look to win his first ever National Championship.
