The Danes Lose But Menaker Makes It Happen On The Bump
Redshirt freshman Kyle Menaker shows out in 14-5 loss.
While the outcome for the Danes wasn’t what they wanted, red shirt freshman pitcher Kyle Menaker had a great showing in his season debut.
The Enfield, CT native made it happen on the mound against the Merrimack Warriors when he pitched one inning. Menaker barely broke a sweat when as threw 17 pitches in a 1,2,3 inning, all outs coming off of strikeouts.
This was Menaker’s first game since playing for the New Britain Bees this summer. He was not able to travel for the Danes first three games against Seton Hall and Central Connecticut State due to a lingering elbow injury but is back to 100%.
Menaker and the Danes will head south on Tuesday to play in state rivals Army and goto Central Connecticut State on Wednesday. Albany sits at 1-4 with losses to Merrimack, Central, Northeastern, and Seton Hall and one win against the Pirates from Seton Hall.
